Après Ski Jewelry was started by a curious artist-builder-skier named Heather Mullins. A Colorado native, and graduate from the Masters program at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Heather has run her own art, design and furniture business called Relevant ReUse for the past eight years where she designs and builds custom furniture, accessories, children's play features, and environments out of reused and recycled materials. Making jewelry has always been a part of Relevant ReUse as she would often have small scraps of interesting raw material that turned out to be perfect for earrings and necklaces. These materials included wood, fire hose, bike tubes and of course, her favorite, skis. A few years ago, Heather moved back to Colorado to establish her business in Denver, started skiing frequently again, and her ski jewelry rose to the forefront of her product line and has proven to be quite successful.
Heather Mullins is a Denver based artist, educator, and advocate of hands-on learning and sustainability. She enjoys living the Colorado dream by skiing, hiking, biking, cuddling with her dog and being a creative entrepreneur. She received her Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2008 and Bachelor of Fine Arts from Montana State University in 2005.
Fellow Colorado native, Genevieve Bassett, joined the Après team in 2017. She is a high school teacher by day, and sales and marketing guru by night. Before teaching, she used to work in professional sports doing sales and marketing for the Colorado Rapids, Colorado Avalanche, and Denver Nuggets. She is committed to advancing the eco-fashion movement and making sure that there will still be snow to ski on for years to come. On the weekends you can find her on the slopes searching for that sweet pow.
